On November 26, 2024, 14 years after the signing of the treaty of military cooperation between France and Great Britain in the field of nuclear weapons, implemented in the Valduc (France) and Aldermaston (GB) facilities, a "Declaration on the occasion of the anniversary of the Treaty of Cooperation in the field of Defense and Security between the United Kingdom and the French Republic ("Lancaster House Treaties - Teutates") is published.

It is signed by 12 French and British Christian movements, with the support of 20 non-religious movements. "Fourteen years later, it appears that our two countries have not really taken any steps" in the direction of non-proliferation and disarmament. The signatories call on the leaders of the two countries "to adopt a more constructive attitude towards the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) by announcing their participation as observers in the next meeting of the 94 countries that have already signed or ratified it."

They recall that the TPNW is a concrete application of Article 6 of the NPT, to which our two countries are States Parties.
